Today marks a somber yet historic anniversary: 75 years since the end of World War II in Europe, symbolized by the Berlin Victory Parade of 1945. To honor this pivotal moment in history, War Thunder developer Gaijin Entertainment has recreated the parade in a virtual form. The game, known for its impressively detailed military vehicles across eras, now features a historically accurate reenactment of the famous event, which will be showcased in a new video debuting on War Thunder’s YouTube channel at 22:01 UTC.
The original Berlin Victory Parade drew thousands of soldiers from Allied nations, including the USSR, U.S., U.K., and France, in a display of triumph with notable leaders like Marshal Georgy Zhukov and Generals George S. Patton, Brian Robertson, and Marie-Pierre Kœnig observing. It was one of the few moments in history where the entire world seemed to stand united in victory.
Gaijin founder Anton Yudintsev emphasized the significance of reflecting on this unity, noting, "75 years ago the whole world came together to defeat the ultimate evil. It’s important to remember this moment because nowadays the world needs to come together again to defeat a new common enemy." The virtual reenactment aims to honor those who fought against evil and serve as a reminder of the importance of global solidarity.
