En Masse Entertainment is kicking off a celebration for the eighth anniversary of their popular MMO, TERA, with a month-long event filled with festivities and new rewards. Since its launch in 2012, TERA has built a dedicated community, and now players can indulge in fun new additions, starting with more Chupathingies—the adorable, wide-eyed creatures beloved by fans.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, TERA players can now hunt for Chupatokens during select dungeons, which drop from final bosses throughout May. These tokens can be exchanged for a variety of in-game goodies, including enchantment scrolls, useful items, and the limited-time Chupathingy pet. Fans can choose between two colorful variants for their new furry companion—classic blue or neon red—adding a touch of whimsy to their adventures.

This event comes on the heels of recent updates aimed at balancing gameplay and improving quality of life. But the real highlight for many is the chance to finally add a Chupathingy to their roster—a dream long requested by the community. Just a heads-up from En Masse: they don’t recommend staring contests with these creatures, given their ever-lurking shock face.

With more events expected to be announced later, it’s clear that TERA’s eighth anniversary is shaping up to be a memorable one for fans eager to celebrate and collect new in-game treasures.
