A new take on the Resident Evil franchise is coming from filmmaker Zach Cregger, known for Weapons and Barbarian. The film follows Bryan, played by Austin Abrams, a medical courier who finds himself in a chaotic race for survival during a terrifying night. The movie is set to be released in theatres on September 18, 2026, and features an all-new story that reinvents the series. The film is produced by Columbia Pictures, Constantin Film, and TriStar Pictures, and directed by Zach Cregger, who co-wrote the script with Shay Hatten.
