NocturneRailway Empire
Australia’s rugged outback is about to get a whole lot more connected—and you’re the one making it happen. In the Railway Empire Down Under DLC, players are transported to the 19th century, where sparsely populated coastlines and remote inland outposts are primed for an industrial revolution. Your mission? Tame the sun-baked terrain and build a sprawling railway network that links isolated mining towns with bustling coastal cities, laying the groundwork for a thriving, modern Australia.
The expansion introduces a new scenario, ‘Pioneering Spirit,’ stretching from 1830 to 1930, immersing you in nearly a century of growth and development. As you venture into new territories—namely New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, and Victoria—you’ll encounter 52 cities that await your railway ambitions. To help you succeed, three historical engines make their debut: the Heisler (0-8-0), the C30 (4-6-0), and the Class S (4-6-2), each adding to the authenticity and variety of your fleet.
Beyond just tracks and trains, the DLC spices up gameplay with fresh goods to trade—including seafood, Rail-O-Mite, and canned beer—giving your economy more depth. You also get new music, updated city buildings, and special mission structures like the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge. The “Settlement” feature offers fixed locations to develop, but you’ll have more freedom to create new cities and tailor your economic systems, making each playthrough uniquely yours.
Whether you're a rail enthusiast or a strategist aiming to conquer Australia’s rugged frontier, this expansion invites you to craft a railway empire in a land full of potential and challenge.
