Milestone is revving up for the upcoming MotoGP™20 with a host of new features that promise a deeper, more realistic racing simulation. The game offers players the chance to participate in winter and mid-season tests, where they can fine-tune their bikes. During these testing phases, players choose up to three different packs—combining various engines and frames—to optimize bike setups ahead of the season. Once racing begins, the development system continues to play a key role: players gather development points, assign R&D staff, and upgrade components like aerodynamics, electronics, engines, and fuel efficiency to push their bikes to peak performance.

The new installment takes simulation realism to another level. Features like fuel management, asymmetric tire wear, and, for the first time in the franchise, aerodynamic damage will impact a bike’s aesthetics and handling during races. Tire wear is now modeled with separate stress on sides and the middle, just like in real MotoGP races, affecting traction and balance. Damaged aerodynamic winglets, for example, can alter bike behavior significantly—meaning crashes and collisions can leave lasting marks on bike handling, replicating real-world consequences. The physics engine has been completely overhauled to foster a more technical and skill-based gameplay experience, emphasizing strategic decisions around fuel and tire choices.

Milestone is also bringing back some fan-favorite game modes, now with upgraded features. The historical mode returns in a revamped format where players race through randomly generated full races, aiming to unlock iconic riders and bikes. The AI, powered by Neural Network technology, has been further refined—now better at managing fuel and tire usage, mimicking real rider tactics with increased speed, fairness, and strategic depth.

Customization continues to expand, with new options for customizing bikes’ liveries—allowing players to craft unique team visuals with new editors for stickers, helmets, racing numbers, lower-back patches, and now bike liveries. Online gameplay has been improved too, with dedicated servers ensuring smoother multiplayer matches, along with quality-of-life updates that enhance multiplayer modes, Race Director, and private matches.

Additionally, Dorna and Milestone are gearing up for the fourth edition of the MotoGP™ eSport Championship. This global competition invites players to battle for the world title with a fresh new format, continuing a successful series that unites racing fans worldwide. More details on the eSport events are available on the official site.

MotoGP™20 looks set to push the franchise’s realism and depth to new heights, offering both simulation purists and competitive racers a ton to dig into.
